#RLconnection 2018

Jason, Justin and Jim visited St. Petersburg, Florida from February 7th-10th to join their Real Living Real Estate peers from 37 other states. There was learning, networking and even some fun mixed in.

On Day 1, Jason and Justin were asked to speak to the crowd about the story of our Relocation Department winning BGRS’s highest award in less than five years. The night was capped off with a welcome reception at a nearby venue where connections old and new were made and everyone shared the same brand.

Day 2’s morning was started by the Real Living Fun Run where our team was lucky to run in 67 degree weather instead of the below freezing temperatures we were experiencing locally in DC. Informative sessions from HSF CEO Gino Blefari, Real Living President Bob McAdams, and new COO Allan Dalton won everyone’s attention for the rest of the day. The guys even snuck away on Day 3 for a short walk to the Salvador Dali museum, which surely did not disappoint.

We always love an award ceremony where we win; and this was no exception. RLAH was awarded several top honors, including the Top Company in the entire franchise. Overall, the team was very impressed with St. Petersburg for its laid back atmosphere, great weather and walkable downtown with a plethora of restaurants, bars and shopping. But of course, the networking and learning with our extended Real Living family was really the highlight of the trip.

#rlah @ DCAR Installation

The District of Columbia Association of Realtors had a unique “Hard Hat Installation” last Wednesday at their soon-to-be newly christened headquarters in Dupont Circle. Since the space isn’t completely built out yet, everyone was wearing hard hats. RLAH was represented well at yet another local real estate association’s installation with Colin Johnson passing the baton to his business partner Chris Surrana, keeping the DCAR Presidency in the family. Jason Sherman, our Principal Broker was there to help swear Chris in and fellow Dupont office colleague, Stacey Barton, was also installed on the DCAR Board of Directors. We can’t wait to see the finished space and look forward to Chris keeping the momentum that Colin helped create in 2017.

#StaRLAH Awards @ Barcelona

On Monday night, all 4 RLAH offices combined for one epic Holiday Party at Barcelona Wine Bar in Cathedral Heights. The event was filled with tasty treats, delicious drinks and lots of laughs. What we call the ‘StaRLAH’s’ is our parody on annual awards ceremonies. Most of the awards have no real estate significance and are related more to culture. While some awards were goofy and others were sincere, in the end, our winners all took home the same plastic trophy. From staff and agents to significant others and spouses, the RLAH family came out in full force and the vibe was positively perfect!

#rlah @ GCAAR Installation

The Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors (GCAAR) installed its 2018 Board of Directors on Wednesday night at the annual holiday party at the Newseum. Not only was RLAH represented well in attendance but three of the twelve newly installed board members are part of the RLAH Real Estate family.

Lee Goldstein and Justin Levitch will be serving their first year on the local board while Andres Serafini will be serving his second consecutive year. It was only fitting that the D.C. Association of Realtors’ President Elect, Chris Suranna, fellow RLAH agent swore in the incoming GCAAR leadership.

The time has come for the yearly #RLAH Management Advisory Group (MAG) election. MAG is a group of elected agents representing each of the four RLAH offices across the DMV. They meet once a month and are responsible for helping shape and guide the company forward for the next year, while taking into consideration the needs of all the offices and the agents and staff within.  This year’s election sees some returning candidates as well as some fresh faces, so without further ado, with their campaign slogans, here are your MAG nominees for the 2018 election cycle.

Food & Friends with #rlah

On Monday, a group of #RLAH agents and staff members volunteered with local DC charity Food & Friends, a non-profit that serves area residents who suffer from debilitating illnesses and diseases. Food & Friends’ vision statement is aimed at “A community where everyone who is critically ill has the nourishment they need to manage their illness. Food & Friends is built on a simple premise: anyone can get sick and everyone can help.”

Not only was #RLAH able to dedicate time to helping prepare and pack food for Food & Friends for a few hours, but we also were able to donate over $6k as a result of our annual RLAH Philanthropy Holiday Drive.

#RLAH @ #NARannual

The RLAH team traveled to Chicago in early November for the National Association of Realtors’ Annual Conference.  Andres, Chris, Colin and Justin had committee meetings and association dinners to attend and Sean connected with his Certified Residential Specialist network. NAR’s Conference Expo is known for being one of the largest all year so the team visited many booths trying to find the next best service to bring back for their clients.  The RPAC event was at the Museum of Science & Industry which included an actual submarine and a mirror maze that they admittedly got lost in.  Saturday night the crew went to The Second City’s 106th Revue and laughed hysterically.  See you next November in Boston!

#RLAHween all across the DMV

From zombies to unicorns, #RLAHween 2017 brought out some great costumes for adults, kids and even some lucky pups.

5th Annual #RLAH Fall Event

Whether we were cooking s’mores, getting our faces painted or taking a leisurely hayride at dusk, the RLAH family and friends night was the perfect way to kick of the Autumn season.
